'Tis the season for free shipping (to cUSA) ...
And since it is also the season for giving and many of you are looking for gift ideas ... a DSLR is a great gift for many reasons. The first is that the recipient will surely love it and get significant use from it. Another is that they will likely share their images with you. Yet another is that you will have an activity/passion to share with that person. And another is that you will no longer have a problem finding a gift for that person for any occasion. Lenses, flashes, a tripod, memory cards, cases, a battery grip ... there will always be great add-on gifts for a DSLR owner.

There's a new show in town.
Canon USA, on behalf of CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association), has announced a significant "New International Photo Event in Japan" - succinctly called "CP+".
"Please find below and enclosed information [PDF Press Release] on the newly-created photo industry event in Japan called “CP+ (Camera & Photo Imaging Show, pronounced [see-pea-plus])”, hosted by CIPA. The first exhibition of “CP+” is scheduled to be held in "Pacifico Yokohama" of Yokohama-city, Kanagawa, between March 11th and 14th, 2010.
For those familiar with the PIE (Photo Imaging Expo) held in every March for the past 5 years of which CIPA was a part owner together with other three industry organizations, please be informed that the event was dissolved in March this year, and CIPA decided to take a step in the new direction by launching “CP+”, its own annual event starting from 2010.
The goal of “CP+” is to create a new international photographic industry exhibition, something comparable to Photokina in Germany or PMA in the USA, which proves to be an ideal platform for camera equipment manufacturers, component/device suppliers and software developers alike to present their products/technologies on a global scale and to search for untapped business opportunities. There will also be numerous lectures, seminars, galleries, panel discussions and speeches to facilitate and nurture further development of the photographic society at large. Please find the attachment for details on “CP+”.
For “CP+” please visit http://www.cpplus.jp/en/index.html
