Firmware Version 1.0.8 incorporates the following fixes and enhancements:

1. Improves AF tracking performance during zoom operations in still photography when used with specific cameras¹
2. Enhances smoothness of AF tracking during zoom operations in video recording.
3. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may cause Err 60 to occur when the camera is turned on or resumes operation from the [Auto Power Off] state.

¹ Applicable cameras (as of February 20, 2025): EOS R1/EOS R5 Mark II If the lens's firmware is already version 1.0.9, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
