The Canon Digital Learning Center is featuring "Shooter's Insight: EOS 5D". "Explorers of light Michele Celentano, George Lepp and Monte Zucker discuss the features and capabilities of the new EOS 5D.

Canon has released Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT Firmware v1.0.3. This update: "Fixes the phenomenon of shots being unable to be taken when using the remote controller RC-1. Fixes the phenomenon wherein the camera continues to scroll through images being played back. Improves reliability in communication when using some CF cards."

Canon has released Canon EOS 20D Firmware v2.0.3 and Canon EOS 20Da Firmware v2.0.3. This update "Fixes a problem in color temperature information transmission that occurred when using Speedlite 430EX" and "Improves reliability in communication when using CF cards."

Canon has posted Canon 1D Mark II Firmware v1.2.4 and Canon 1Ds Mark II Firmware v1.1.4. These new firmware versions "Fix the phenomenon of file number errors that occurred when shooting bulb exposures" and "Improve reliability in communication when using some CF cards." In addition, the 1Ds Mark II firmware "Fix[es] the phenomenon of horizontal line noise appearing when P.Fn-21 is set to ON."

B&H now has the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens in stock. I now have most of the new Canon equipmment in my hands I will post reviews as I can get to them. :)

Canon has released DPP (Digital Photo Pro) v2.0.3. From this link, select the option for Drivers/Software. This updater download requires a previous Canon RIC (Raw Image Converter) to be installed on the computer being updated. Some nice enhancements have been added including real time sharpening and a PS Healing Brush-like tool. Hint: Canon does listen to our requests - sometimes at least. A complete list of changes/enhancements is included on the download page.
