Nikon Issues Notice Regarding Support for EN-EL14a Li-ion Battery

This is an announcement regarding support for the new EN-EL14a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery scheduled for release. We plan to release firmware updates that will enable support for the EN-EL14a with the following products in the middle of November 2013.

• Nikon D5200, D5100, D3200, D3100 digital SLR cameras
• COOLPIX P7700 compact digital camera

Though a firmware download enabling support for the EN-EL14a will not be released for the COOLPIX P7000 or P7100, the battery can be used with these cameras. However, the camera’s battery indicator may quickly reach the half-charge point on its display. The COOLPIX P7800 already supports the EN-EL14a.
