The Wimberley P5 Camera Body Plate is a high quality universal camera body plate.

Use it to attach a camera with a medium to small lens to a tripod head accepting an Arca-Swiss Quick Release Adapter (such as the Arca-Swiss B1 Ballhead).

The P5 has a relatively low profile - mount it and forget it. It does not get in the way while handholding your camera. It is relatively small and light.

There may be some better body plates for specific camera bodies, but the Wimberley P5 Camera Body Plate is one of the best for mounting on most any camera. I change equipment frequently - but I don't want to buy a new plate for every body I own. The P5 is the answer for me.

The Wimberley P5 Camera Body Plate mounts solidly on most Digital SLRs (unfortunately it covers the battery door on the Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT). And mounting the camera onto a ballhead is simple and fast.
