Red Tulip on Green

When you are getting close to your subject with an even moderately telephoto focal length, and have a distant background, you need to be less concerned about what is in the background and more concerned about the shape and color of what is in the background. Bright grass on a slope yields a bright green base and partially-shaded trees create a darker background that surrounds the red tulip flower.
