Full-Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the 12-24mm f/4 is designed to cover Sony E-mount cameras’ full-frame sensors. It’s also fully compatible with APS-C NEXcameras.

Wide-Angle Zoom. When used on a full-frame camera, this lens’s zoom range is wide. Like really wide. Its field of view ranges from 122° at its widest to 84° at the long end, which means it’s perfect for sweeping cityscapes, landscapes, and architectural shooting. With an APS-C sensor camera, you’ll get a focal length equivalent to 18-36mm. The constant f/4 aperture isn’t quite fast enough for low-light shooting, but it’s better than a variable-aperture zoom.

Advanced Optics. The FE 12-24mm f/4 G’s thirteen-group/seventeen-element design includes four aspherical elements, three extra-low dispersion elements, and one super extra-low dispersion element to minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations, and to produce clear, high-contrast images. Nano AR coatings keep reflections, flare, and ghosting at bay while maintaining clarity and color fidelity.

Direct Drive SSM Autofocus System. This internal focusing system provides fast, nearly silent, and highly accurate autofocus performance that’s great for still and video use. A dedicated focus hold button and AF/MF switch help to tailor focusing to your shooting needs.

High-Quality Build. The FE 12-24mm offers dust- and moisture-resistant sealing for use in less-than-ideal conditions. The all-metal barrel and smooth, responsive, rubberized zoom and manual-focus rings give this lens a solid feel. Please note: with its large, bulbous front element, no screw-on filters will work with this lens.
