The Defocus Control lenses let you accentuate either background or foreground blur and bokeh by dialing a simple ring on the lens. People asked me how it worked, so I spent a day reading up on the optical physics and I can explain it to you simply: it’s magic. But it’s very cool magic that gives amazing portraits with a 3D effect. Well, it does that after a while. It takes a bit of practice to get things where you want them, but after a half-hours chimping the LCD you’ll be good to go. And truly, you’ll get some shots that other photographers will go “What did you shoot that with?”
