Young Archer

A young girl learns to shoot a bow under the supervision of her grandfather.

Need a clean background? Position your subject at a high elevation and shoot from below them. A telephoto focal length eliminates some of the negative perspective distortion such a shooting position has the potential to create.

For this image, I could have backed to nearly twice the shooting distance and used 200mm instead of 100mm, but the background started creeping into the base of my image. The 100mm focal length placed me just far enough away from the carbon fiber arrow that cute little bow is firing to be safe.

I used a circular polarizer filter for this photo.
