Passport Sling II - (Petaluma, CA – September 18, 2012)

Lowepro, a product design company that builds protective gear for photography, video and portable electronic devices, unveils its next generation of a versatile favorite among enthusiast photographers: Passport Sling II. Inspired by the original Passport Sling for DSLR cameras, this new design incorporates a removable and customizable camera box that adjusts to fit a CSC or DSLR kit, plus personal gear.

"We're excited to offer this customer favorite in an updated design that allows photographers to fit their DSLR or CSC camera set-up," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of product management. "We built a flexible, padded camera box that makes it easy to change up your kit depending on your shooting plans."

This discreet sling design has a unique, organic profile that belies the fact that it fits and protects camera gear. Its removable camera box quickly transforms the Passport Sling II into a full travel or day bag. Both camera box and sling may be folded flat for packing into a larger bag.

An expandable front panel unzips to reveal 30% more storage space for personal items—ideal for a day of sightseeing and souvenir shopping or a trip to the farmers market.

Comfortable, convenient and thoughtful features make the Passport Sling II a perfect everyday and travel choice. The adjustable shoulder strap with cam lock buckle includes a detachable pad for extra, day-long comfort; remove the pad for a more streamlined look. Multiple storage pockets on the exterior and interior provide ample space for a water bottle, smartphone, wallet, keys, light jacket, and other personal items. A bright, contrasting lining makes it easy to locate gear.

The Passport Sling II fits two types of camera configurations within the customizable camera box. The removable divider and flaps are built to make quick and secure size adjustments. The larger configuration fits a DSLR with attached zoom lens, plus one extra lens or a flash. The smaller configuratioon fits a CSC with attached zoom lens, plus two extra lenses or a flash and one extra lens. This new sling is available in Black/Red or Mica/Green.

Lowepro, a product design company that invents protective gear for photography equipment and portable electronics, adds a classic black option to its popular Event Messenger series. The three models are built to fit, protect and carry an interchangeable lens camera (ILC) kit, plus a laptop or tablet in the larger two sizes.

"We've received positive feedback from customers and favorable reviews from photo publications, blogs and forums when we launched the Event Messenger series in March of this year," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of product management. "Photographers and reviewers appreciate its discreet profile, flexible organization and easy access—and many asked for us to make it in classic black; so we have."

The Event Messenger's Grab-and-Go design with a wide-access main compartment makes it ideal for getting to gear when shooting a news story, wedding or impromptu event. A Dual-Mode Flap allows a photographer to quickly switch from maximum security mode to quiet working mode.
