Resolution results have been added to the Canon EOS M3 page.
The EOS M3, Rebel T6i and Rebel T6s have identical sensor and image processor components, so it is not surprising that they also share identical resolution. That is a very positive aspect of the little M3.

"In the case of photography, I typically do that by means of teaching, writing these blog posts, and occasionally shipping myself into boxes to surprise sick fans.
About a year ago, I did something different. I flew over to help make a viral video to attempt to save a (then) 4 year old little stranger called Eliza O’Neill, suffering from a terminal degenerative brain disease called Sanfillipo Syndrome.
As a result, Ivan Makarov who runs the charity Photographers for Good, reached out to me a couple months back, offering to donate a 100% of profits from a fine art book – The Plus One Collection III, featuring work from over 200 photographers in the world (including yours truly, of course!) – to the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation.
Whilst the fundraiser was active though, Ivan asked if I would be willing to auction off a photoshoot or two to help generate a few additional sales – I didn’t think much of it and immediately agreed.
Fast forward a couple weeks, and I receive a message from Ivan: “Someone bought a photoshoot with you – a lady in Germany by the name of Eva Creel.”
“Wait, I know Eva! ” I replied, stunned. “She’s a friend! We both won a competition that 500px hosted a while back and actually got the chance to hang out and meet in Germany at Photokina!”
And that… is how I ended up in Germany, doing my first ever maternity photoshoot for a lady I met on the internet."

Photoshop Fix 1.0 – NEW!

Fix includes Liquify to reshape any area of an image; Healing Brush to remove image imperfections such as scratches and blemishes; Smooth to easily smooth or sharpen areas of a landscape or parts of skin; unmatched face detection that recognizes when a specific section of the face is selected and enables detailed refinements; and much more.
Fix even delivers amazing performance on images from high-end DSLRs (depending on your hardware capabilities). Try it out. I promise you won’t have seen this kind of performance on a mobile device before.

Photoshop Mix 2.0
Today we have released Photoshop Mix 2.0. This is a major update to Mix with many new features and improvements throughout the app, including a completely new architecture that leverages Apple’s Metal framework.
Photoshop Mix is a compositing app built using Photoshop technology that delivers a deep, focused, non-destructive editing experience on a mobile device. It enables you to do real work while away from your desktop. Through CreativeSync, Mix also connects to many of Adobe’s other mobile apps like Fix for retouching workflows and Lightroom for image enhancements, so you can easily produce multifaceted projects in a completely mobile environment. Plus, if you want to take your projects even further, you can quickly move your layered and masked compositions to Photoshop CC, and benefit from all its goodness. And now, there’s even non-destructive smart filter support in Photoshop CC for Mix looks.
Just some of what’s new in Mix today:
- More layers
- Nine blend modes (the most popular from Photoshop) that allow textures, multiple exposure effects and more, for more serious and complex work away from the desktop
- Nearly twice as many image adjustments
- Support for Layer Masks to create double exposure, stencil and other creative effects

Adobe Camera Raw 9.2
Adobe Camera Raw 9.2 releases today and remains in sync with Lightroom with the ability to easily remove or add atmospheric haze in specific areas of your photos using the Local Adjustment Brush, Radial Filter, and Graduated Filter plus, a new way to navigate through your images when zoomed in. And as always you will get support for more cameras and lenses.

Photoshop CC 2015
Today, we are announcing a major update to the desktop version of Photoshop. One new web-based component of Photoshop will ship today, which I will describe below. The primary Photoshop desktop application will ship in the coming weeks when we release all our other desktop apps like InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, Premier Pro CC, etc. and I will write a detailed blog post about Photoshop on that date. To whet your appetite, here is just some of we are adding:
- Even more enhancements for designers – continuing to build out this major area of focus for you. – We are adding a completely streamlined and tuned Design Space mode targeted for web and UI designers; new Artboard capabilities; the ability to directly import SVG files that you can rescale in your designs; and Creative Cloud Libraries improvements that speed up your asset access and management workflows.
- The ability to easily work with 3D figures and incorporate them into your images and designs directly in Photoshop. – Import, pose, and animate characters created in the new Adobe Fuse CC (Preview), and then adjust camera angles, lighting, and position to get precisely the look you want in Photoshop. Just imagine all the possibilities and the flexibility you gain when you can pose, re-pose, change the lighting of people in images in ways that are very challenging in 2D.

Prices for Nikon's popular full frame D810 and D750 DSLRs were lowered even further at the beginning of this month.
The Nikon D810's MSRP (with instant discounts) fell another $200.00 after already being discounted $300.00 in September. The D750's price dropped $100.00 after instant rebates in addition to the $300.00 savings in effect throughout last month.

PhotoPlus Expo 2015 is right around the corner and I am of course wondering if any new Canon products might be seen at this show. With Canon recently deleting a couple of older lenses from their lineup, the timing seemed right to re-compute the 10 oldest Canon lens list.

The bottom 10 list is always ripe with good speculation material. I'll fabricate some rumors to get us started.
Knocking #1 off of the list right away: holding the third-least-popular position does not bode well for a 50mm f/2.5 macro lens replacement. Perhaps a new 50mm f/1.4 with 1:1/1x macro capabilities (similar to the 24-70mm f/4L IS or at least with a dedicated extension tube) will arrive and eliminate this lens from the list?
The referenced 50mm f/1.4 is number 7 on this list. This lens is a perennial favorite, but it is showing strong signs of aging. Its replacement should be more than just the same optical design in a modernized body. To be positioned adequately above the 50mm f/1.8 STM, this lens should have improved wide-aperture image quality and fast Ring USM AF. Adding image stabilization would vault this lens' popularity.
The 85 f/1.8 and 100 f/2 (#5 and #2 respectively) are good value lenses now. Modernize their build, modestly improve the optics and add image stabilization to get a pair of must-have primes.
When Canon introduced the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II Tilt-Shift Lens, most of us expected to see the TS-E 45mm and TS-E 90mm lenses (#3 and #4 on the list) to be next-replaced. We've been waiting for that announcement for about 6 years now. That these two lenses hold the last two positions on the site's popularity list may explain why we haven't seen these updates. That a product refresh would launch them off of the bottom positions could easily be argued.
The 20mm f/2.8? This is not a popular lens and ... I don't remember ever hearing anyone wanting a replacement for it. Improve the image quality, modernize the design and add IS for, minimally, a better seller. Make the focal length wider for more-increased popularity.
The 28 f/1.8 is only very slightly more popular than the 20 f/2.8 and ... I don't hear demand for its replacement either.
Do nothing other than add image stabilization to the 400 f/5.6L and huge quantities of this lens would be flowing from the warehouses.
Bonus speculation: The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens is due for replacement. This lens hit my radar because the year introduced spec is blank in our database, causing it to sort above numbers in my query (placing it in first place on this list). I know that you love that silver ring, but ... the low cost full frame telephoto zoom lens position is ripe to be filled by an image stabilized EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 STM Lens with modernized build design. Add it to the 6D via a kit or a bundle rebate.
