Wimberley P30 Lens Plate Review
Like the Wimberley P20
and the Wimberley P40 Lens Plates
The Wimberley P30 Lens Plate is a very high quality and well-machined lens plate.
The P30 is made for lenses such as the
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens.
A lens plate such as the Wimberley P30 Lens Plate is used to connect a
large tripod collar-equipped lens to a tripod head such as the
Arca Swiss B1 Ballhead,
Wimberley Sidekick or the
Wimberley Gimbal Tripod Head.
The lens plate attaches solidly to the tripod collar on the lens.
Since the Wimberley P30 Lens Plate (and all other Wimberley Lens Plates) features a
double-dovetailed design, accessories can be attached above or below the plate.
The plate/clamp design creates a convenient and solid attachment setup.
I primarily use the Wimberley P30 Lens Plate to attach my above-mentioned
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens.
