PSPA/SPAA conference a colocation with WPPI in Las Vegas
JACKSON, Mich. – PMA - The Worldwide Community of Imaging Associations announces conference colocations of two member associations, the Professional School Photographers Association International™ (PSPA™) and the Sports Photographers Association of America (SPAA®), with theWedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention. PSPA and SPAA programming will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 19-20, 2011, in Las Vegas.
PSPA and SPAA conference attendees may also attend the WPPI conference, from February 21-23, for package price, only $100 more than the conference fee. Attendance at the WPPI trade show is included with the PSPA and SPAA conference fee.
“PMA remains committed to these two important photographer groups,” says Ted Fox, executive director, PMA. “When we announced in June the September dates from PMA 2011, we understood the first-quarter time period is ideal for the school portrait, sports, and event photo markets. This co-location agreement allows PMA to continue to provide industry-specific educational and networking opportunities at this more convenient time frame to these important industry segments.”
PSPA president Mark Schoenrock,Lifetouch National School Studios Inc., Eden Prairie, Minn., noted of the “new beginning for PSPA” with the conference and points out the optimum location and month (first quarter of the calendar) of the event for the school photographer. “The Vegas venue, access to a high quality trade show, a fresh conference format, and the industry’s best education – it will all add up to one productive industry happening,” says Schoenrock. “Without question, PSPA 2011 is a must attend event for those interested in School Photography. “
SPAA Committee members are ecstatic with the announcement as well, heading into their fifth annual conference since joining as a member association of PMA.
"Those of us working in sports photography as a career are hungry for information and embrace the opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow industry colleagues," said SPAA Committee Chairperson Tom Hayes, Visual Image Photography Inc., Cedarburg, Wisc. "I can't think of a better setup than the upcoming PSPA/SPAA 2011 Conferences are going to provide us, considering the solid educational programming planned. Plus, the fact, we are going to have a focused group of photographers and vendors meeting together, networking, and figuring out together how to make our respective businesses and industries prosper."
