Harrison Wrights Falls, Ricketts Glen State Park

Located just below Waters Meet on the Falls Trails, Harrison Wrights Falls is one of my favorite of the 22 named Ricketts Glen State Park waterfalls. This picture was taken during a light rain.

A B+W 82mm XS-Pro MRC Nano Kaeseman CP Filter was used to cut the reflections from the water and wet surroundings for a deep, rich color. Rain also serves to keep other hikers and less-serious photographers out of the image (they stay home).

I typically use a narrower aperture for greater DOF, but with no close foreground subjects, I was able to open to f/8 for a sharper image and shorter exposure (1 sec is easily long enough to blur the falls).
