Eastern Chipmunk

Eastern Chipmunk

This eastern chipmunk is watching for danger while filling its pouches with sunflower seeds. The ideal wildlife subject positioning is often from the side. Here I cropped the little animal in-camera so that the head was aligned at the left 1/3 frame line and so that the stripe was curving out of the frame from near the right 1/3 frame line. The rest of the frame border remains clean thanks to the background blur created by the close subject combined with the telephoto focal length.
