Update: The PIXMA Pro 9000 is temporarily OOS at B&H. I will let you know when the printer becomes available again - if the price holds.
Update 2: The "email-for-a-better-price" options have now disappeared.
Mail-in rebates are available for the
Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Printer and
Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II Printer (B&H product links).
Rebate amounts are a respectable $200 and $300 respectively. The email-for-a-better-price offer results in B&H pricing of $249.95 shipped and $549.00 shipped respectively - before rebates.
This means the out of pocket cost for
the Pro9000 II is only $49.95! Plus a stamp. The ink is worth far more than that. The OOP cost for the Pro9500 II is also hot at $249.00 (I'm currently using the Pro 9500 Mark I).
Rebates are delivered in the form of an American Express debit card and are available through June 31st, 2011.
Rebates on these printers are often also-available in a combination deal along with select
Canon DSLRs. Not surprising in the wake of the Japan disaster is the omission of these combination rebates.
With these
B&H deals, you get the same (or better) pricing without having to buy a DSLR. I highly recommend that you
act fast as the demand for these deals is going to be high - and I don't know how long the deal price will hold.
