National Geographic Celebrates 125th Anniversary

The National Geographic Society, founded on January 13, 1888, is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Since its first issue in October of that year, National Geographic has played a pivotal role in supporting contemporary adventurers, explorers, and conservationalists - and inspiring countless more.
 
Some of the world's most recognizable photographs came from the pages of National Geographic. Its impact on the world of photography, as well as its contributions, are immeasurable.
