Breathe Easier - Your Lenses Are Safe

 Saturday, December 22, 2012
Nikon recently modified the wording in their "How do I clean a camera lens?" FAQ listing. The following two sentences have been removed:

"Do not breathe on the lens to fog it for cleaning. There are harmful acids in breath that can damage lens coatings."

Hopefully we can infer from the recently modified text that Nikon believes that your breath, while not ideal for cleaning a lens element, will not actually damage it.
