From Digital Imaging Reporter:

August 23, 2016—Upper Saddle River, NJ—Manfrotto Distribution Inc., Lino Manfrotto +Co S.p.A., Mamiya America Corporation (MAC Group) and Benro Precision Industrial Co., Ltd., announced that they have resolved Manfrotto’s patent infringement lawsuit.

The lawsuit had been pending in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Manfrotto and Lino Manfrotto had sued both MAC Group and Benro. They contended that Benro’s GoClassic and GoTravel tripods infringe Manfrotto’s U.S. Patent No. 6,164,843. That patent is for a photographic tripod providing support in various axes.

Consequently, MAC Group and Benro denied that their tripod products infringe the patent. Additionally, they countered that the Manfrotto patent was itself invalid.

Manfrotto is dismissing the litigation with prejudice. As a result, Benro and MAC Group have agreed not to import or sell the accused product in the United States until the expiration of the ’843 patent. The patent will expire on November 12, 2018. The terms of the settlement are otherwise confidential.

Upper Saddle River, N.J. (May 23, 2016) – Manfrotto, a leading global innovator and manufacturer of premium photo, video and lighting support products and accessories, announces the launch of three new tripod bags: two versions which are 75cm long, padded and unpadded, and a smaller unpadded version which is 60cm long.

With the addition of these three latest models, the tripod bags range perfectly matches several Manfrotto photo tripods, including the latest 190Go! and 290 collections.

The asymmetric tapered shape allows photographers to store a tripod with the head attached. Tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. Getting a tripod in and out of these bags is easy and quick due to the zipper which extends down to the full length of the bag, even where the head is stored. Each version features a strap for comfortable carrying on a shoulder.

The 75cm version is also available in the full-padded option. Thanks to the padding on the entire length of the bag, maximum protection of the tripod is guaranteed. The thermoform padding on the top also protects the tripod with head mounted.

Each bag is made with the highest quality materials: ballistic nylon that prevents the bag from tearing and abrasion, and an external coating that makes it protective and water-repellent.

The new tripod bags are now available nationwide:

 Tuesday, June 23, 2015
June 23, 2015 – Manfrotto, world leader in the photography and imaging equipment and accessories industry, announces the launch of the new XPRO Ball Head. Designed for passionate, advanced hobbyist photographers and experienced professionals, the new XPRO Ball Head completes the XPRO Heads range that is dedicated to the new 190 and 055 tripods.

It ensures three features essential to photographers: extreme precision, thanks to its Triple Locking System; portability, with a hard-wearing magnesium body; simplicity and convenience, thanks to its 200PL and Top Lock camera plates.

PRECISION
Introducing a new sphere lock mechanism, and triple locking system, the XPRO Ball Head is a state of the art head in the Manfrotto ball heads range. The triple locking system guarantees the camera position stability and avoids drifting. It consists of three wedges which apply pressure to the sphere to lock it in position, as the ball lock lever is rotated. The new polymer rings mean that photographers can count on extreme accuracy, and together with the sphere’s PTFE treatment the head ensures smooth, accurate and less jerky camera movement. The innovative sprung system means that, should the lever butt against something during the locking movement, it is possible to pull the lever and rotate to avoid any interference and reposition so it is ready for use. Finally, the levelling bubble helps the user level compositions precisely reducing post-production work.

PORTABILITY
Its magnesium alloy body, together with the new hollow sphere, enables the XPRO Ball Head to guarantee high payload performance while maintaining an extremely light structure. It weighs a mere 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs), but can support up to 10kg (22 lbs) of payload.

SIMPLICITY & CONVENIENCE
To match various needs, the XPRO Ball Head comes in two plate versions, each with a specific plate. The 200PL is the most common Manfrotto plate: its compact size and lightweight aluminium construction allow it to stay constantly attached under the camera – ideal for advanced hobbyists who are looking for a practical, easy to use product. The Top Lock is an innovative solution for experienced professionals, who need to feel totally secure even when using heavy and expensive high-end camera gear. The XPRO Ball Head is available in two versions that are distinguishable by the coloured finish on their magnesium body: the black version comes with the 200PL, while the grey version comes with the safe and rapid Top Lock System, the MSQ6PL (Arca-Swiss compatible) plate. The new XPRO Ball Head’s design follows the iconic new styling that unites Manfrotto’s entire offering for advanced hobbyists and professionals – while boasting groundbreaking technology, further proof of Manfrotto’s commitment to research and development.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Manfrotto XPRO Ball Heads are available now from authorized resellers. The Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head with 200PL Quick-Release System retails for an MSRP of $149.88 while the MHXPRO-BHQ6 XPRO Ball Head with Top Lock Quick-Release System retails for an MSRP of $199.88.

From Manfrotto:

Manfrotto is making a huge splash at NAB this year with the launch of our newest product, the Digital Director, the first workflow management processor for iPad, Apple Certified. Come check it out at our booth C6025 April 13th - 16th! This is a brand new, one of a kind product that could revolutionize the way photographers and videographers operate their entire workflow; from the setup to taking the shot and all the way to post production and sharing thanks to the Apple Certified Interface. Simply control the key camera parameters such as the exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, manual focus, white balance and more all from the iPad.

Once all of the parameters are set, feel free to use the interactive focus and digital zoom right on the iPad as well to get the precise focus point of your subject. This is taking the weakest part of the camera, the LCD screen, and enlarging it with greater resolution to ensure before taking a shot your focus is spot on. There is also a focus peaking filter which will highlight focused profiles on the image for additional clarity. When you are ready, press the shutter release button on the iPad to take your shots! Then, use the app to take images straight from your camera and instantly download them to view, edit or share via social media or email.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for the Digital Director. Manfrotto is dedicated to continuously improving the app and adding more and more features! Coming soon, accessories will be made available including items such as cases and sun hoods, as well as a version for the iPad mini.

 Friday, April 10, 2015
April 9, 2015 – Manfrotto is proud to announce the launch of the XPRO Geared Head. The new 3-way tripod head is designed for amateur and hobbyist photographers who require precise composition adjustments via geared movements, including macro, landscape and architectural photography.

Portability
For passionate photographers requiring precision, especially on location, this head designed by Manfrotto weighs only 750 g (1.65 lbs), but can support up to 4kg (8.8 lbs) of payload. Its Adapto body, a strong and rigid technopolymer, makes this head the most precise, lightweight head that Manfrotto has ever created. This allows landscape and architectural photographers to achieve their images on-location with less bulk than ever before.

Framing precision
Thanks to the XPRO Geared Head’s patent pending micrometric knobs, photographers can achieve their desired composition and refine their selections along a single axis faster than traditional ball heads. The geared movement of the head allows precise, micro step framing on all three axis, with confirmation via the three included bubble levels, one for each axis. The newly designed rotating knobs ensure ergonomic comfort even during extensive usage. Moreover, if the photographer doesn’t need to make fine adjustments, the axis locking system may be loosened with the Quick Movement levers, allowing for free movement along the axis.

Convenience
By using one of the most common photographic plates in the world, the 200PL, the new XPRO Geared Head is compatible with Manfrotto’s most popular ball and 3-way tripod heads including the XPRO 2-Way fluid head, XPRO 3-Way head and 496RC2 ball head. This strikes the perfect balance between quick setup and savings: one plate is always attached to the camera, ready to be used in any situation with whatever photo or video support the photographer has on location.

Made in Italy
The new XPRO Geared Head is designed and manufactured in Italy. Utilizing premium materials and advanced engineering processes, the new XPRO Geared Head features a 10 year Canadian warranty.

The new Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way Geared Head will be available in Canada in late April at the suggested retail price of $259.95.

Upper Saddle River, NJ – July 10, 2014 – Manfrotto, a manufacturer of premium photo and video accessories, unveiled a new travel backpack in its Advanced bag collection: the MB MA-BP-TRV BeFree backpack. Billed as the perfect travel companion to the Manfrotto BeFree tripod, this new backpack features a unique carrying slot in the extendable side-padded pocket that is designed to fit the BeFree and other compact travel tripods.

The interior of the backpack was created to provide durability, flexibility and ease of use for travel-minded photo enthusiasts to carry their photographic gear and personal belongings in one compact bag. The backpack employs the Manfrotto Camera Protection System (CPS), which is designed to provide protection at its most vulnerable spot—the center of the bag, where the lenses are stored. The CPS consists of specially structured 3D foam encasing dividers that reduce shock and absorb and dissipate the force of impact.

It also has a rugged, durable bottom half that’s made of high-density nylon as well as nylon material on the top. It’s carbon detailing ties it in with Manfrotto’s Italian heritage.

The all-in-one carry solution is divided into two main compartments. The upper section is dedicated to personal belongings, while the bottom section has a quick side access. It can fit a DSLR with attached lens, two additional lenses, flash and accessories. Additionally, a 13-inch laptop can be stored in a back compartment. The bag can also be converted into an everyday backpack by removing the main compartment divider. And its extendable side-padded pocket makes it possible to add additional space to the bag by unzipping the pocket to insert a travel tripod.
