From Fotodiox:

MARCH 29, 2016 –Fotodiox Pro, creator and distributor of several lines of specialty solutions for videography, cinematography and photography, has announced the Wonderpana FreeArc XL - a comprehensive filter system for the Canon 11-24mm lens. Ultra wide-angle lenses, like Canon's extremely wide 11-24mm lens, are usually impossible to filter due to their bulbous front lens element, lack of filter threads and potential for severe vignetting with typical filter solutions.

The WonderPana FreeArc XL, however, is the latest in Fotodiox’s custom filter system line and is designed expressly for the Canon 11-24mm lens. Its aircraft aluminum lens collar allows photographers to attach a custom series of massive 186mm filter options, like ND 4-1000 and circular polarizers.

The WonderPana filter system has been a worldwide success since its debut, particularly among landscape and architectural photographers and filmmakers. To suit Canon’s ultra wide 11-24mm lens, Fotodiox re-engineered the WonderPana FreeArc to create larger "XL" versions of the mounting system and custom filters to maintain the same level of flexibility and creative control as the acclaimed original.

Durable and lightweight enough for hand-held shooting, the WonderPana FreeArc XL can be ready at a moment’s notice to answer any image challenge that require filters. It can even remain installed full-time on a photographer’s lens as a critical layer of lens protection.

Additionally, photographers can add the WonderPana WP80 Filter Brackets to the WonderPana FreeArc XL to mount one or two square graduated filters at the same time as a round filter. Measuring 200mm x 260mm, the WonderPana FreeArc XL's square filters are the largest commercially available in the industry today, available as both soft and hard-edged graduated filters at .6 and .9 ND – perfect for meeting any shooting conditions head-on.

The WonderPana FreeArc XL is available now for $229.95.

The Fotodiox WonderPana FreeArc XL is available on Amazon.

Waukegan, IL – September 24, 2014 – Fotodiox Pro, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality photography and videography accessories, has announced their newest concept in LED lighting: the FlapJack LED Edgelight series. Designed to be lightweight, portable and easy to set up, the FlapJacks produce soft, even light that is ideal for almost any shooting scenario, like impromptu interviews, capturing beautiful portraits or even shooting tabletop food or product photography. Their interior diffusion materials eliminate the need for additional softboxes, and each of the four models can easily fit into a messenger or camera bag, making them a truly complete lighting solution – right out of the box.

Rather than using forward-facing LEDs common in conventional panels, the FlapJacks’ LEDs are mounted around their outer edge, aimed inward at layers of diffusion material. Instead of producing a direct beam, they produce bounced light that creates a soft, even glow with no hotspots. They are the perfect solution for filling in shadows, shooting glamour portraits or expertly lighting small spaces, like car interiors or office cubicles.

Furthermore, the FlapJacks feature an elegant form factor – each measuring less than 1/2" at its thinnest point – and can be placed almost anywhere. Their compact design makes it easy to mount them to light stands, tabletop tripods, light clamps or even a camera’s accessory shoe. The FlapJacks are so lightweight that they can even be mounted with Velcro, cord or tape, making it easier than ever before to get creative with light placement.

Quick Facts About the Flapjack LED Edgelight Series:

  • Two circular models: the C-200R (7” diameter) and the C-300R (10” diameter)
  • Two rectangular models: the C-200S (8" x 5") and the C-200L (11" x 4 1/4")
  • Feature edge-mounted LEDs and layers of built-in diffusion to produce soft, even lighting with no hotspots
  • Fully dimmable, with no change in color temperature, from 10-100%
  • Thin, portable design makes each model only 1/2” deep at thinnest point
  • Run on either AC power or a NP-F style rechargeable battery (both are included in each kit)
  • Contain a backlit LCD indicator that displays both light level and battery life status
  • C-200 lights come with ballhead mounting bracket for light stand or accessory shoe mounting
  • C-300 lights come with mounting yoke for light stand
  • Each light comes with a custom fitted hard case and is backed by Fotodiox’s 2-year warranty

From Fotodiox:

Waukegan, IL – October 17, 2013 – Fotodiox the leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality photography and videography accessories, has announced the availability of its next generation LED light panels; the Fotodiox LED-312D, LED-312DS, and LED-1024AL. The new LED lights are compact and powerful, while remaining lightweight – perfect for both studio and location shooting. Fotodiox's LED panels generate little heat, use little power, and now the reduced bulk of these newest lights maximize portability and mounting possibilities to capture the perfect shot.

The three new LED panels feature all-metal barn doors to shape and control the light, while a locking system keeps the barn doors in place, no matter how the light is mounted. The lights feature a backlit LCD panel that displays the percentage of light intensity and remaining battery life, to avoid shutdown during the most important photo shoots.

“The new added features, especially the barn doors, make the new equipment ideal for photographers and videographers who want more control, while remaining compact and lightweight to carry on location,” said Kelvin Luo, CEO of Fotodiox. “Our original LED lights were a big hit with both amateur and professional photographers and videographers, and we’re proud to be releasing the next generation of these high-intensity lighting solutions.”

Fotodiox LED-312D

The Fotodiox LED-312D is a versatile professional grade LED light that comes equipped with 312 ultra-bright 5600k LEDs. The powerful daylight balanced LEDs offer a full spectrum of soft light, with full control over the light level from 10-100%. The light is equipped for fully cordless operation with the included lithium-ion battery packs and charger. A rear-mounted backlit LED status display shows both the remaining battery level and the light's brightness level.

Control and shape the light with the new, all-metal barn doors. Two included diffusion panels securely lock into place – one panel softens the light even more, and the second panel is for matching the 312-D's light's color temperature to match tungsten light sources.

Fotodiox LED-312DS

The Fotodiox LED-312DS is an equally powerful and professional LED light panel that shares the form factor of the 312D. Additionally, the 312-DS features a dedicated control to change the light’s color temperature from 5600K daylight to 3200K tungsten color temperature, or any level in between.

The light level is fully dimmable from 10-100%, as indicated by the rear-mounted backlit LCD status display. In addition to the real-time battery level monitor, you can also see the current color temperature output for maximum control of lighting settings.

Fotodiox Pro LED-1024AL

The Fotodiox Pro LED-1024AL comes with over 1,000 powerful LEDs in a compact (12'” x 12”) form. The 5600K daylight LED panel is lightweight, making it the ideal versatile and powerful lighting solution whether in the studio or on location. The complete kit includes the 1024AL light, all-metal mounting yoke, locking diffusion panel, AC adapter, and a custom-fitted soft shell case with handle.

Availability and Pricing

All three of the new Fotodiox LED upgrades are available for immediate sale, and each light kit comes with a 24 month manufacturer warranty.

Amazon carries the Fotodiox LED-312D, LED-312DS and Pro LED-1024AL.

Waukegan, IL - June 11, 2013 – Fotodiox, a leading manufacturer and distributor of photography and videography accessories and equipment, today announces a line of LED Fresnel lights for film, television, and studio photography work. The compact DY-200 LED Fresnel lights offer focusable, dimmable light that remains cool-to-the-touch while providing powerful light.

A separate ballast unit and an adjustable yoke mounts on either a floor stand or hangs from a lighting grid for many mounting options.

The Fotodiox DY-200 LED Fresnel lights feature on-board controls which offer a full range of light levels, as well as control over the motorized focus to create a wide floodlight or a powerful spotlight. The light’s intensity and focus can be adjusted in one of three ways: ballast control box with an integrated LED display, a wireless remote, or by connecting it to any DMX-compatible lighting control system.

Other features include:

  • Daylight 5600 ± 300, Color Index Rating > 85

From Fotodiox:

Fotodiox Introduces Two WonderPana Filter Systems, and its own Signature Line of High-Quality Filters for Professional Photographers

Leading photography distributor expands offering, manufactures its own line of camera filters for professional photographers and videographers

Fotodiox WonderPana Filter System

Waukegan, Ill. Aug. 22, 2012 – Fotodiox (www.fotodioxpro.com), a leading lens adapter and accessories manufacturer and distributor, today introduces the WonderPana 145 and WonderPana 66 Filter Systems. Designed to work flawlessly with the WonderPana Systems and compatible with others on the market, Fotodiox also introduces its new PRO line of ten neutral density filters. These ingenious lens filter systems represent the first products in the new “Wonder” line of original products planned for release by Fotodiox in the coming year.

Fotodiox’s WonderPana Systems are ideal for panorama, nature, architectural, fashion and event photographers, as well as analog and digital filmmakers who are looking to better manage lighting balance. A lens hood filter system designed for Super Wide Angle (SWA) and Ultra Wide Angle (UWA) lenses, they are compatible with the following lenses:

  • Nikon: 14-24mm FX, 14mm FX
  • Canon: 14mm Full Frame, 17mm TS Full Frame
  • Tokina: 16-28mm Full Frame, 10-17mm APS-C
  • Sigma: 12-24mm Full Frame, 12-24mm II Full Frame, 8-16mm APS-C, 14mm
  • Panasonic: Lumix 7-14mm, micro 4/3 format
  • Olympus: 7-14mm, 4/3 format
  • Korea Lens (Samyang and various private label versions): 14mm Full Frame

Both WonderPana Systems allow the use of Fotodiox PRO 145mm round filters including UV, Polarizer and Neutral Density (ND) filters. The large circular filter design prevents the typical glare and unwanted reflection issues often found in other designs.

“By introducing the WonderPana Systems, we are offering photographers and cinematographers the ability to capture images with the right lighting balance and skip the HDR software post production process,” said Drew Strickland, vice president of Fotodiox. “With the new Wonder line, we are bringing more innovative, quality products to the market and giving photographers the tools they need to capture amazing shots.”

Fotodiox WonderPana Filter System

WonderPana 145 Filter System

The WonderPana 145 Filter System includes a metal adapter hood that accommodates the Fotodiox PRO 145mm round filter format. It is compatible with all Fotodiox PRO 145mm filters, including the new 145mm PRO filters. It is also easily upgradeable to the WonderPana 66, allowing the use of industry standard 6.6” rectangular filters. The WonderPana 145 System holder is available with several different filter kit options.

WonderPana 66 Filter System

The WonderPana 66 Filter System will accept all Fotodiox PRO 145 filters, in addition to industry standard rectangular 6.6” filters from Schneider Optics. The WonderPana 66 System can accommodate two filters at the same time: either two rectangular filters, or one circular and one rectangular filter. Similar rectangular filter systems compatible with LEE (150mm) and Cokin X-Pro (130mm) rectangular filters are also slated for release in 2013.

PRO Filters

Six of the new PRO filters are available in Fotodiox’s exclusive 145mm round format, similar to a traditional round screw-in filter, only much larger in size. These 145mm filters, in concert with the holding system, enable full coverage of the protruding front-lens elements inherent in SWA and UWA lenses in the following filter types: Multi-Coated UV, Circular Polarizer and 4, 8, 16, and 32 ND filters.

Fotodiox is also releasing four 6.6” x 8.6” 4mm thick, rectangular-shaped Graduated Neutral Density filters in the following grades: ND .6 Soft and Hard Edges; and ND .9 Soft and Hard Edges. These CR-39 based ND filters can weather almost any environment, as they are practically unbreakable and scratch resistant. Fotodiox’s revolutionary new filter offerings will enable photographers and filmmakers to achieve balanced horizon shots in camera, eliminating the need for tedious post-production editing.

Availability & Pricing

The WonderPana Systems are available for pre-order starting today on the Fotodiox website and will be released October 15. The WonderPana 66 System starts at $350 and the WonderPana 145 System starts at $200.

As a complement to the WonderPana System, Fotodiox is now taking pre-orders on the WonderBurst HSS-8000, a 1/8000 high-speed sync wireless remote flash trigger compatible with any camera flash or strobe.
