The new AcuteB Two-head Split Cable from Profoto is a cord with one plug in one end and two in the other. Connect it to the output on your AcuteB2 and you have two outputs at your disposal. Very simple, yet very effective.

The AcuteB2 600 AirS is Profoto’s most compact and lightweight battery generator. This makes it perfect for on-location shoots and situations where you need to stay moving. It has only one output, but with the Split Cable that is not an issue.

Connect the Split Cable to the output of the AcuteB2 and suddenly you have two outputs. In other words, you can now work with two light sources – and this without having to bring another generator with you. So, it is either half the baggage or twice the possibilities, depending on what you are used to.

“This is admittedly an uncomplicated product,” says Göran Marén, Product Manager at Profoto. “But sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.”

With the Split Cable connected, the power distribution from the AcuteB2 becomes fully symmetric and each head can be powered with up to 300Ws.

Profoto Introduces New Pro Plus Flash Heads

Next generation ProHead Plus, Pro-B Head Plus, ProRing Plus and ProRing 2 Plus products feature several upgrades

North White Plains, NY (August 27, 2012) – Profoto, the world's leading manufacturer of lighting solutions for still and motion photography, announces today the new Pro Plus line of flash heads.

“Profoto’s new line of Pro Plus heads feature upgrades that improve upon even our most reliable classic – the ProHead,” said Mark Rezzonico, VP Product Group. “This new and improved product lineup has been designed to better complement Profoto’s entire line of products for professional photographers.”

Compatible with over 120 different Profoto Light Shaping Tools and accessories, Pro Head Plus and Pro-B Head Plus have the following four upgrades:

1. New safety lamp head connector

The new safety lamp head connector is the most visible upgrade. The safety lamp head connector helps prevent dust and moisture from penetrating the generator. Note that the safety lamp head connector is 100% backward compatible.

2. New improved stand adapter

The stand adaptor has been upgraded with a fixed screw. Unlike the previous version, it cannot be unintentionally screwed off. In addition, the stand adaptor is now equipped with an additional hole, which creates improved mounting options.

3. New patent pending “Perfect Arc” flashtube

The “Perfect Arc” flashtube has a new design that vastly improves the triggering capabilities on low power settings. This also provides better color and energy stability from flash to flash on all power settings. Note that the new flash tube is compatible with all previous generations of ProHead and Pro-7 Head.

4. New improved protective glass cover

The glass cover has been made thicker, which makes it even more robust and safe to work with. ProRing Plus and ProRing 2 Plus have been updated with the new safety lamp head connector.

Durable new battery generator sets a new standard for on-location lighting

North White Plains, NY (August 27, 2012) – Profoto, the world's leading manufacturer of lighting solutions for still and motion photography, announces today the sturdy new Pro-B4 1000 Air featuring ground-breaking flash duration.

Thanks to the new, patent pending Hybrid Capacitor Technology, the Pro-B4 delivers flash durations down to 1/25,000 of a second – making it not only the shortest flash duration of any battery generator in the world, but also of any flash pack.

In addition to its short flash duration, the Pro-B4 is also the world’s fastest recycling battery generator. At lower power settings it is capable of firing up to 30 flashes per second, while the longest wait on full power is less than a second.

Featuring two independent outlets with individual controls and displays, the new Pro-B4 makes it as easy as possible for photographers to take full advantage of all features. The unit’s energy setting can be adjusted quickly with precise control in 1/10 f-stop increments. The unit’s display can be set to show the output in f-stops or watt seconds, and information about the flash duration on each head is easily accessible.

The Pro-B4’s powerful Li-Ion battery can fully recharge in less than 45 minutes and can be recharged while in use. This means that if the modeling light is used moderately, the pack can be used continuously while connected to a main outlet. In addition, the battery can be recharged just as fast with Profoto’s portable power source, the Profoto BatPac.

Profoto Introduces New ProDaylight 200/400 Air

Latest continuous light sources add to the growing Profoto product line

North White Plains, NY (April 16, 2012) – Profoto, the world's leading manufacturer of professional photography lighting and Light Shaping Tools, announces today the new ProDaylight 200 Air and ProDaylight 400 Air continuous light sources. In 2011, Profoto released the continuous light source ProDaylight 800 Air, thereby introducing the concept of light shaping to video. ProDaylight Air is an HMI light, which is ideal for most photo and video shoots.

These latest versions are even smaller and more lightweight, yet still as powerful and robust. The fact that the units do not use fans to keep cool makes them totally silent – a valuable feature when working with live sound video. Elmsford, NY (December 1, 2011) – Profoto, the world's leading manufacturer of professional photography lighting and Light Shaping Tools, is proud to introduce the new Umbrella XL product line.

"The new Profoto Umbrella XL products were created with professional portrait and fashion photographers in mind," said Mark Rezzonico, VP Product Group. "These new light shaping tools create a smooth yet distinctive light, allowing photographers to perfectly illuminate a single person or even small groups with just a single light source."

Available in three versions – white, silver and translucent – the new Profoto Umbrella XL features a diameter of 65” with a slightly parabolic shape that allows photographers to change the light distribution by simply sliding the umbrella shaft inside the flash head. In addition, the light spread can also be adjusted by moving the Zoom Reflector back or forth, creating an even more versatile look.

The Profoto Umbrella XL fits on all Profoto flash heads and monolights. It can also be mounted on Profoto’s Cine Reflector, and thereby can be used with the new line of continuous light sources – ProDaylight 800 Air and ProTungsten 1000 Air.

There is also an optional front diffuser available to soften the light and reduce the intensity by 1.5 f/stops, practically converting the white and silver models into a fully functioning Octabox. An optional stand adapter allows photographers to mount the umbrella on a light stand, or for use with other flash brands.

Availability

All three versions come in a rugged transport bag. They are available now at local photo retailers throughout the U.S. starting at around $300.
