What's New in Version 3.3

New unified photo library for both iPhoto (v 9.3 or later) and Aperture; no import/export required; Faces, Places, slideshows, albums and web sharing work across both applications
Support for AVCHD video has been added
Aperture now lets you use camera-generated previews for faster browsing of RAW files immediately after import
Highlights & Shadows tool has been updated to deliver higher-quality results and work with extended range data
A new Auto Enhance button has been added to the Adjustments panel
White Balance tool now includes Skin Tone and Natural Gray modes to simplify color balance
Auto button has been added to the White Balance tool for one-click color balancing

According to Macworld, Apple has announced Final Cut Pro X during the 2011 National Association of Broadcasters Show.

"Apple says Final Cut Pro X has been rewritten from the ground up, with support for 64-bit, a user-interface redesign, and a whole host of new features. The software takes advantage of core Mac OS X features like Cocoa, Core Animation, Open CL, and Grand Central Dispatch to speed up and fine-tune performance."

Apple Releases OS X 10.6.6, Opens Mac App Store, Sells Aperture 3 for $79.99

Apple has announced the grand opening of the new Mac App Store.

Access to this store requires the just-released Mac OS X 10.6.6 available via the Mac OS Software Update function. Mac App Store should become available on the Apple menu once the update has been installed.

Aperture 3 is available at the Mac App store for only $79.99 in the US ($119 off regular price). Check your country's App Store as the deal varies by country. (thanks Adam)
