Canon has released new firmware for the Rebel XT/350D (v1.0.2), 1D Mark II (v1.2.2) and 1Ds Mark II (v1.1.2).

The primary fix incorporated into the 1DII and 1DsII updates:
"When pressing the DISPLAY button immediately after shooting, the LCD monitor would turn completely white, the camera would hang, and the images in the buffer memory would be lost. Countermeasures for this issue have been incorporated into this update."

Fixes included in the Rebel XT/350D update:
"Fixes the phenomenon of extreme underexposure when using some lenses.
Fixes the phenomenon of auto power off function failure when auto power off is set more than 2 minutes.
Fixes the phenomenon of incorrect white balance when using an external flash."

Canon has posted an announcement concerning Canon 1D / 1Ds Mark II lock ups and lost images. This is important news to those experiencing these problems. I will post links to the new firmware as soon as I learn it is available (likely the end of May 2005).

In this same announcement, Canon indicates that Lexar 80x CompactFlash Cards also cause lock ups in "extremely rare" situations with many Canon Digital SLR models. Lexar will be providing a firmware update for these cards.

Many sample photos from this lens and various others I have been using will be going online as I get time.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is now shipping. This is a significant upgrade from CS.

Adobe has released Camera Raw Version 3.1 for Adobe Photoshop CS2.

The anxiously awaited Epson Stylus R1800 Photo Printer is now shipping as well.

Canon Europe CPS has posted Issue 12 on their web site. There is always good stuff here.
